The maximum support nearly doubled from €6,500 to €12,500: the €6,500 heat pump grant stayed, and SEAI added up to €2,000 for central heating upgrades (radiators, cylinder, pipework) and a €4,000 Renewable Heat Bonus for homes switching off oil, gas, solid fuel or electric storage heating.
Your home must lose heat slowly enough for a heat pump to run efficiently: HLI ≤ 2.0 W/K·m², or up to 2.3 with a technical assessor's justification. If your current BER already shows HLI ≤ 2.3, you may not need a separate technical assessment. If you're above that, insulate first — attic and wall insulation have their own SEAI grants and drop your HLI fast.
