Your monthly card sales
Use gross card turnover, including sales that may later be refunded.
Tax and hardware
VAT matters because Square quotes processing charges plus VAT, and hardware prices are generally quoted before VAT.

Add the all-in figures from a bank or merchant-service quote. Enter amounts as costs to your business after any VAT recovery.

Check the operational fit before switching
The cheapest standard rate is a shortlist, not an automatic recommendation. Check your required POS, ecommerce integration, payout schedule, support and contract terms on the provider's own site.
Links currently go directly to each provider. If Roamestic later uses an approved affiliate link, it will be marked and will not change the calculator's ranking.
What is included
- Transaction counts are estimated from turnover divided by average sale, then split across channels and card types.
- The higher-cost share uses each provider's published non-EEA, international, commercial or premium rate. Classifications differ, so check your own statement.
- Typed and other remote payments are modelled at each provider's closest public remote or online rate.
- Processing is charged on gross successful payments. Estimated fees attached to refunded sales are shown inside each breakdown, not added twice.
- Hardware is spread over your chosen period. Temporary promotions, optional POS subscriptions and integration costs are excluded.
- Stripe's result includes the €20 dispute-received fee, but not the extra €20 manual-response fee. Won-dispute refunds are not modelled.
Rates were checked against the official Square Ireland pricing, SumUp Ireland reader pricing, Stripe Ireland pricing, Stripe Terminal pricing and Revolut Business acceptance pricing.
